The goal of this project is to research, design, and develop biodegradable golf balls that closely replicate the feel, weight, and performance of traditional golf balls while ensuring they are environmentally friendly and safe for wildlife. The golf bioballs will be composed of a simple blend of natural and biodegradable materials, such as corn starch and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), which can safely degrade within one week of exposure to environmental conditions.
These golf bioballs are intended exclusively for practice use at driving ranges, addressing the need for sustainable solutions in casual and recreational golfing environments. The ultimate goal is to achieve mass manufacturing capabilities, producing 20, 000 golf bioballs per month to meet demand and scale, while ensuring the solution is affordable, with a target cost of just a few cents per ball.
