Scope of Work
The Pedestrian Safety System should consist of two main components
1 Outdoor Safety System
Functionality
Trailer Movement Detection
Detect the motion of trucks moving backward towards the dock.
Provide clear visual signal via existing traffic light and audible warnings to pedestrians in the loading dock area upon detection.
Features
Motion sensors positioned on each side of the loading dock entry.
Audible alarms
Visual indicators eg flashing lights synchronized with the buzzer alarm.
Sensors should be suitable for rainy environments
2 Indoor Safety System
Functionality
Forklift Detection and Signaling
Detect when a forklift enters the container from the dock area.
Illuminate a blue spotlight towards the dock area to indicate forklift activity.
Pedestrian Detection
When a pedestrian is detected on the dock area while the blue spotlight is active trigger safety alarms and safety lights.
Features
Motion sensors installed on each side of the dock door to monitor pedestrian and forklift movements.
Intense blue LED spotlights mounted near the dock doors to signal forklift entry.
Safety alarms audible and safety lights visual that activate upon pedestrian detection during active spotlight conditions.
System integration with trailer security mechanisms to detect unsecured trailer entries triggering additional audible alarms if necessary.
