5. The cover shall confirm to DIN EN 124 standards, the cover shall be fabricated using heavy duty outer frame and checkered top cover plate. The covers are fabricated using graded mild steel Chequered plates conforming to IS3500-1994 and base metal conforming to IS 2062-2006. The cover shall confirm to class D 400 testing standards for minimum deflection due to constant movement of heavy loads. (LOAD TEST certificate (as per DIN EN 124 standards from a recognized test Laboratory to be provided opening)

6. The Covers are hot DIP galvanized for corrosion resistance as per IS 2629-1979 (Indian standard for Hot DIP Zinc coatings on structural steel and other allied products)

7. The manhole covers shall be fitted with two numbers of hydraulic/gas pressure lifting cylinders to provide assistance while opening the covers. The cylinders shall be of suitable capacity such that cover can be opened with minimal human effort. The manhole covers shall be provided with stay rods to ensure that the covers do not slam shut accidentally.

8. The manhole covers are provided with Two no's heavy duty hinges on either side. Hinges are specially designed such that there is no jamming due to constant movement of heavy loads.
The Hinges must be provided with dowel pins of suitable metal EN 36 to withstand wear & tear arising from frequent use, Due care is to be taken to ensure that the hinges are of suitable strength and design that there is no misalignment of the top cover with the bottom frame due to wearing out or misalignment of the hinges.

9. The manhole covers shall be provided with 2 no's heavy duty locking arrangements to prevent unauthorized opening and a long handled tool (made from high grade steel) is to be provided for opening and closing purpose.

10. The manhole covers are Dust Free & water tight as per IP 66 standards. The manhole covers shall be provided with double sealing mechanism using suitable gaskets and an inner rim is provided to catch the dripping water at the time of opening the covers. The gaskets shall be made from vulcanized nitrate/neoprene rubber and it shall be weather and hydrocarbon resistant, with ability to stand the temperature from -10 deg to 70 deg and the ability to maintain elastic and compression characteristics even under constant movement of heavy vehicles.

11. The Covers shall be designed for flush mounting on the driveway and the frames shall be provided with suitable number of dovetailed lugs as hold fasts for casting into concrete.
