Product Description
We are manufacturing our product, Cat Ladder, in Durham, NC. They are currently made of wood and ship as a "ready to assemble" product.
We are looking into having a low cost, high volume version of the product manufactured. We are considering rotomolding as an option. Attached is a pdf drawing that approximates what we are envisioning.
The ladder depicted is representative of one our current, 5 Step, Cat Ladders. The dimensions noted are taken from what we currently make. We realize the rotomolded version may need to change, but a few things need to be maintained.
Here are some of our design criteria:
The step surface areas need to remain approximately as depicted. 417mm wide X 228mm deep (15"X9")
The distance between steps needs to be maintained as depicted. Approx 250mm from step surface to step surface.
Pitch of the ladder needs to be maintained as depicted. Approx 60 degrees.
The ladder needs to be rigid enough to prevent deflection and sway under load. Our current product can easily support 10 lbs on each step for a total of 50lbs.
Preferably the material used will be a neutral or soft white color with a refined, furniture, surface finish if possible. Ideally the material would also perform well outdoors.
The version depicted shows one way the carpeting may attach to the rotomolded body. But we are open to suggestions as to how else this may be accomplished if the "slot" feature is problematic.
We are looking for a quote for the following quantities: 1K, 5K, 25K, 50K and 100K units.
